Our History, Mission and Values
Who We Are
Our History
Originally founded in 2007 as Cornerstone Baptist Church – Stratford, we were a church plant & new site for Cornerstone Baptist Church. Since then, our church family has been meeting together and growing rapidly. After nearly 20 years of ministry together, each site of Cornerstone Baptist Church voted overwhelmingly in favour of branching out into 3 separate churches. In 2026, this became a reality as Cornerstone Baptist Church – Stratford became Crossroads Baptist Church, seeking to serve the community of Stratford & beyond for the Lord.
Our church building is centrally located in Stratford, PEI, whose town motto “Imagine That!” is one we’ve connected to Ephesians 3:20-21 with a greater vision of what God is doing in our neighbourhood.
The church is thriving, with our Sunday Worship services growing in attendance from 75 people in 2018 to approximately 200 people by 2025.

What We Believe
- There is One True & Living God who eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- The Bible is the unique written Word of God. It is completely trustworthy in all matters of life and living with God in His Kingdom.
- Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died for our sins as the atoning sacrifice, was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in power and glory.
- The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of believers and that He empowers them to do all that Jesus instructs them to do as His followers.
- The world and all that is in it was created by God (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). That it was created perfect and was without sin or blemish.
- Humanity freely chose to disobey God and in their disobedience sin and death (the curse) entered and ruined, and continues to ruin, all of God’s good creation.
- Salvation is a free gift offered to all of God’s creation and that those who by faith respond to Jesus’ invitation to come follow Him enter into Eternal Life. (John 17:3)
- The Church is an embassy of heaven here on earth. Church is where God’s people, both men and women, are called to tell others about the good news of Jesus Christ while at the same time learn to live life Jesus’ way, together.
- There is day coming where Jesus will return in power and that all people will be raised to judgement. Those who follow Jesus will be raised and judged into life (New Heaven and New Earth). Those who don’t follow Jesus will be raised and judged into death (Hell).
In the Neighbourhood...For the Neighbourhood
Whether you come to one of our Community Events, one of our multi-age Small Groups, or our Crossroads Kids program on Sunday mornings, you’ll soon discover a place where you belong! We believe that becoming like Jesus means loving our neighbours and supporting the needs of those around us. For example, we partner with Glen Stewart Elementary School & Stratford Elementary School with our Kits For Kindness ministry to provide food packages for families, we work with our local seniors home offering chapel services, and we support all kinds of community programs and initiatives, while launching some of our own, too.
